The weather in Scotland may not be better (and possibly wetter--I haven't checked), but it will certainly be a less expensive trip if you go to Scotland. If I'm going to pay Swiss prices, I want to maximize my chances of decent weather. WebSwitzerland is good for solo travel as long as you have the money. It is one of the more expensive countries (although so are the other ones on your list IMO).
